Vinny Project -

A collaborative effort for sustainable viticulture: meet VINNY partners

The Project brings together 19 partners from 10 countries all working towards a single goal: reducing the dependence on harmful agrochemicals in vineyards by developing innovative, eco-friendly solutions.

Coordinated by the University of Minho, the consortium unites a wide range of entities from the scientific community, including universities, research centres, and companies from Portugal, Spain, Austria, Italy, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Israel, Belgium, Romania, and France.

Along four years, the VINNY consortium will work collaboratively to develop advanced nano biopesticides and biofertilizers that offer effective alternatives to traditional agrochemicals. By leveraging each partner’s strengths in areas such as nanotechnology, bioengineering, and field testing, VINNY aims to provide vineyards with practical tools that support long-term soil health, improve crop quality, and reduce chemical dependencies.

With coordinated efforts across multiple countries, the consortium will conduct rigorous testing phases—from laboratory research to real-world field trials—to ensure the safety, efficacy, and scalability of VINNY’s innovations.

Through VINNY, this network of experts is setting a new standard for collaboration, paving the way for a resilient and environmentally responsible future for viticulture.
