Council of the EU approves a set of measures to support the wine sector!
The Council of the European Union has adopted a modernised policy framework, representing a decisive step in refining the sector's strategy for a more competitive and resilient viticulture transition.
This update highlights the sector's maturity, showcasing critical milestones such as stronger climate resilience support (up to 80%), simplified and harmonised labelling and better alignment of production and demand. The agreement also boosts rural economies through wine tourism and encourages innovation in reduced alcohol and certain regional aromatised wine products.
A significant element of this new package is the increased support for fighting plant diseases, such as flavescence dorée.
